Start with the way your school actually works

In a secondary school, check simultaneous electives and co-teaching. In vocational training, check workshops and consecutive periods. In a language academy, teachers working across several centres may have limited availability. Record these requirements before optimising gaps.

Count the lessons each group needs and compare them with available periods. Check each teacher and specialist room as well: sufficient capacity across the school does not guarantee enough time in a particular laboratory.

Include a shared resource, a teacher with limited availability and a double period in the first trial. An artificially easy example does not establish that the whole school will fit.
